We all know that gears are prone to deformation during heat treatment, and severe deformation can easily affect our daily work. So how can we prevent gears from deforming after heat treatment?

To be well prepared for the organization, it should be noted that during normalizing or tempering processes, the furnace temperature must be kept uniform, and tools should be used to ensure that the workpieces are heated and cooled evenly. It is strictly forbidden to stack them together. Gears that need to be drilled to reduce weight should have the drilling sequence arranged after heat treatment.

The heat treatment of gears uses high-frequency quenching, which causes less deformation of the parts; the tooth surface obtained after high-frequency quenching has high strength, hardness, wear resistance, and fatigue resistance, while the core still maintains sufficient plasticity and toughness. To reduce deformation, high-frequency quenching of the tooth surface should use a lower quenching temperature and shorter heating time, with uniform heating and slow cooling.
